This view spoke to me last night, not just because the overt beauty, but also because it felt like a visual image of my heart right now in this current season. The beauty of the sky and nature beyond this dock calls to me to explore and see and take it in, but the safety of the dock ends abruptly and beyond that is unknown.
Have you ever stood at the end of a dock in your life, longing to step out and explore the beauty and potential and possibility in front of you, but nervous to do so because you know it would entail leaving the safety of the known and comfortable?
I’ve been wrestling through this lately, and the struggle has been real because I crave stability and plans and knowing what to expect. But lately God’s been calling me to something so much better than what I consider to be “safety” and “stability”, but rather to instead step out in faith where I can’t see where things may lead and don’t know for sure in the natural what the result will look like.
My anxiety in the natural is very real, but even more real and louder these days is the peace of knowing that God is in control and that He won’t let my feet slip. Letting go of my plans and embracing His plans will yield in peace, joy, and blessing in my life, and I believe in the lives of those around me as well, and I’m finally at a place where I can’t help but say yes to move beyond the safety and follow Jesus onto an unknown path. Unknown to me that is, I know He knows the way.

If you are standing at the end of your dock in your life right now, I encourage you to trust God and jump (along with wisdom prayer of course). If God is calling you to deeper and greater places in your soul and life, take the step and join Him in the journey and experience all He has to offer.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
